These events gave students the chance to practice academic English in a relaxed atmosphere and learn about interesting topics. Below is a summary of some of the study groups that have taken place inside the center. You can find out about future events in the news section of the SALC website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Philosophy &#038; Psychology Study Group &#8211; Professor Anton Sevilla<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This philosophy and psychology study group was coordinated by Professor Anton Sevilla between 2015 and 2016. Although the study group is not available this semester, a regular class on a similar subject will be offered. If you\u2019re interested in taking it, please click on the image on the right to find out the details.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsci.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/~salc\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/philosophy-2016.jpg\" alt=\"Philosophy &amp; Psychology Study Group\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Consciousness Study Group &#8211; Professor Jan Lauwereyns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Professor Jan Lauwereyns from the Faculty of Arts and Science organized this study group which contemplated the thought-provoking topics of consciousness and the mind from the perspective of cognitive science and art.
