ABOUT THE LAB

Welcome to our laboratory

Welcome to the Biomolecular Chemistry Laboratory's webpage at Kyushu University! Founded in April 2014 under Professor Takeru Nose, our lab delves into the exploration of molecular design, synthesis, characteristics, and the biological functions of biomolecules, including peptides and proteins.

Research Activities of the Laboratory of Biomolecular Chemistry

Our laboratory currently focuses on four main research areas involving peptides and proteins:

  1. Structure–activity relationships of elastin-derived peptides

  2. Identification and discovery of receptor-binding molecules, particularly for assessing the risks of endocrine-disrupting chemicals through a combination of computational chemistry and biochemical approaches

  3. Development of enzyme inhibitors using rational molecular design

  4. Elucidation of the mechanisms regulating the functions of oligomer-forming proteins
