SALC (Self-Access Learning Center) is a place which supports autonomous English study outside of formal classes. The supports we provide include consultations about English study, English conversation, help with English language proficiency tests such as TOEFL or IELTS, and giving students access to books, newspapers and magazines in English. In addition, SALC continuously provides information about various study or training programs – organized both by Kyushu University and outside institutions – and offers consultations for students interested in going abroad. The regular staff and the graduate students who work in SALC as supporters are very friendly. The visitors can study in a relaxed atmosphere, in a way which suits their interests. Some of those who used SALC in the past improved their English so much that they were able to realize their dreams about studying abroad.
