A big obstacle in the education of many students in Japan is the lack of opportunities to actually speak English with foreigners, outside of the classroom. With SALC, you get such an opportunity every day!

You can talk about anything you want! Some students just chat about everyday life, some passionately talk about their hobbies, or describe the charm of their hometowns. We have plenty of magazines and newspapers where you can find an interesting current topic to talk about. You can also just ask our staff members about their countries and cultures.

Our very diverse staff includes people from the United States, United Kingdom, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Japan, Brazil, Mongolia, Peru and Russia. You can also talk to fellow international students, who come from all over the world. It’s a good chance not only to improve your English, but also make new friends!

If you want a one-on-one conversation, you can make a reservation. You can even ask for a particular conversation partner, if you wish. If you are OK with talking in a group just drop by anytime!
