In the past, SALC has hosted study groups organized by university professors and faculty members. These events gave students the chance to practice academic English in a relaxed atmosphere and learn about interesting topics. Philosophy & Psychology Study Group – Professor Anton Sevilla
This philosophy and psychology study group was coordinated by Professor Anton Sevilla between 2015 and 2016. Although the study group is not available this semester, a regular class on a similar subject will be offered. Consciousness Study Group – Professor Jan Lauwereyns
In 2016, Professor Jan Lauwereyns from the Faculty of Arts and Science organized this study group which contemplated the thought-provoking topics of consciousness and the mind from the perspective of cognitive science and art. The study group is not offered this semester, but students interested in cognitive science – Professor Lauwereyns’ field – are encouraged to take one of his classes.

Introduction to Data Analysis and Visualisation – Professor Carlos Mendez-Guerra
This study group was coordinated by Professor Carlos Mendez-Guerra from the Faculty of Arts and Science (academic year 2017).
