“Criterion” is an online tool which allows studying English writing in a more efficient way. Through SALC, Kyushu University offers free access to this service to all students. The essays you write will be instantly evaluated using a 6-point scale and you will be provided with feedback. By rewriting the draft, you will be able to acquire writing skills in a short time. Since Criterion can be used via a web browser, you can access it not only on campus but also in the comfort of your own home.

Criterion was developed by the ETS（Educational Testing Service）, known for the TOEFL®️ test. The know-how acquired through the development of TOEFL is applied in this service.
