Professor Jasper Andriessen will give a lecture titled “Transforming Grains of Continental Sand into Pearls: Introduction to the Cultural Relationship between Japan and the West” this January! 
 
Professor Andriessen will be discussing examples of cultural exchange that have taken place between Japan and the West from the mid-16th century (during the sakoku period) through to the present day.
