Lecture: "Two Centuries of Frankenstein: How Literature Affects and Is Affected by Culture."

On January 22, Professor David Farnell gave a lecture titled “Two Centuries of Frankenstein: How Literature Affects and Is Affected by Culture.” David Farnell is a professor of English in the Fukuoka University General Education and Research Center. He also was a visiting lecturer of American literature at Kyushu University from 2007-2009. Professor Farnell spoke about how literature affects culture and is affected by the culture in which it is written. He discussed how Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein has affected us and inspired many to write similar works.
